"The Mad Barista" was my first time building a full-scale website. (Forgive any jankiness, especially with the responsive design.) This site focuses on the science behind brewing the perfect cup of coffee.

Urban Exploration

/ Northwestern

Early 2012 | + ActionScript 3, XML, Illustration/Graphics (Adobe Illustrator CS5)

Ha. Good ol' Flash. But this was one of my first forays into a full-scale coding project, so it's worth showing here nonetheless. This is a graphic coded to show interesting locations for urban explorers to visit, including info about location, dangers, ease of access, preparation tips, and photos.

Urban exploration is the exploration of man-made structures, usually abandoned ruins or unseen components of man-made environments. Photography and historical interest/documentation are heavily featured in the hobby.

The Ultimate Valentine's Day Guide

/ Northwestern

Feb 13, 2011 | + ActionScript 3, Illustration/Graphics (Adobe Illustrator CS5)

If "Urban Exploration" was an early coding project, this is probably THE earliest.

Made in Flash for North by Northwestern, this graphic is a Valentine's Day guide for Northwestern students. This graphic was probably my first time coding anything, so as much as it makes me cringe, it's funny and nostalgic enough that I'm keeping it here. :)
